Graphene!

Pretty neat!. But this could equally well have been a chemistry prize so the chemistry prize will now not go to materials.

One of this year's Nobel laureates also got the Ig Nobel Prize in 2000 for levitating frogs...from there to ultrathin, ductile graphene is by leaps and bounds quite a stretch (pun alert)
